MY INESCAPABLE DEATH
BY TIM VOGT 2020 That hideous abomination. She is banging at my screen door! “Let me in.” “Let me in.” she screamed with a desolate lonely howl revealing her crusty yellow teeth clacking together audibly. Her skin yellowing as the virus takes control of her body. “Let mama in” she whines in a voice so high my ears are ringing with pain as white noise fills my damaged ears. Droplets of blood shower my shoulder in irregular patterns on my sweat stained shirt. This old house I am holding up in feels like an endless crater and I am falling to my death, but at the same time I feel claustrophobic and stuck here like a moth trapped firmly in a cocoon. I feel like a prisoner on death row strapped into an electric chair waiting for somebody to flip the switch. My inescapable death.
